One of the things that I decided to do last year when I was committed to investing in myself, was to find makeup and skincare products that were high quality and that I really loved. I didn’t hate what I was currently using but I didn’t love most of them either and I wanted to feel confident in my skin whether I was wearing makeup or not. I started paying more attention to suggestions in Instagram stories of people whose look I admired and it quickly paid off! I’ve discovered quite a few products that I cannot live without! Some are a higher price point than I would normally pay for my beauty products, but I have found them to be worth it.
I’ve discovered quite a few products that I cannot live without! Some are a higher price point than I would normally pay for my beauty products, but I have found them to be worth it. I’m still working to find other products that I love. I need a killer mascara, great face wash and an eye shadow and contouring palette to love. I also want to find a good makeup primer and a setting spray.
Replenishing Face Mask - I have tried to make face masks a part of my weekly routine recently. This replenishing one is my favorite to use and I was excited when I found it in a tube and didn't have to buy the little individual packets of it anymore. My face always feels more hydrated and any inflammation or redness that I have subsides.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation - I heard about this product on Chelsie's (of Hey There, Chelsie) Instagram stories. I made a note in my phone so that I would remember to try it because of the "full coverage moisturizer" aspect. The struggle that I've always had with foundations has been that they dry my face out and it starts to look flaky in the middle of the day. I have LOVED this foundation not only because it is moisturizing, but because the color matches perfectly and it evens out my skin tone better than any other product I've tried. I also love that it has SPF 50+ in it.
Tinkle Razors - I heard about these from multiple people and finally decided to give them a try. I love using them daily for the fuzz above my lip instead of waxing it every few weeks, which is painful. Also, learning that you can use it to take the peach fuzz off your entire face has been a game changer! At least once a week, I take three minutes to shave my entire face and without those little hairs and all of the dead skin that comes off with them, my makeup goes on so much more smooth. Who knew that a cheap little razor could be one of the best beauty products to have in your house.
Babe Lash Eyelash Serum - I have tried many different eyelash serums over the years and Babe Lash has been my favorite. I have been using it consistently for the last year and I get compliments on my lashes all the time! Babe Lash enhances their appearance and I really love them!
Babe Lash Peptide Conditioner - I've been using the conditioner a few times a week for the last six months and I feel like it's enhanced my lashes even more than the serum does on its own. I'd definitely suggest using this in addition to the Eyelash Serum!
Laneige Lip Mask - I'd heard a lot of good things about this overnight lip mask but took way too long to try it for myself. I have chronically dry lips and never really had much luck relieving the dryness completely until I used this. I love how light it is! I put it on every night before bed and wake up to softer lips. The lip mask has been a game changer during our dry winters here in Utah.
Covergirl Outlast All-Day Lip Color - I've tried a lot of all day wear lipsticks, but found that most of them flaked off my lips and made my lips more dry throughout the day. I decided to pick this one up while I was at the store one day and I've loved it ever since. I wear it almost every day, it lasts really well, and my lips don't dry out or get flaky throughout the day. The thing I love the most is that the top coat is more like a lip balm than a gloss so it's not sticky or extra shiny and I don't feel like I need to apply it as often throughout the day because the lip color itself doesn't look too matte without its top coat on.
Goof Proof Brow Pencil - The first few times I used this pencil, I wasn't the biggest fan, and I almost returned it. I was really used to using powder and a brush to fill in my brows so this was a learning curve. Once I figured out how to use it without making my brows look too dark, I've loved it more than the powder that I used before. It's the perfect color for me and covers the lighter hairs in my brows so they look fuller and not so sparse. My poor brows were victims of the over plucked, thin eyebrow phase that a lot of people went through and I'm still working to slowly grow mine back in, but this pencil helps them to look more even and full until then.
Covergirl Perfect Point Plus - I have been using this eyeliner since I was in high school and I haven't found anything that I love as much. It goes on dark and smooth and really easily and stays put all day. It's the perfect product for the more natural makeup look that I try to go for and fills in my lash line really well.
These are the products that you will always find in my makeup bag and bathroom drawer. Others rotate out as I find new things to try, but I’m loyal to these that have been good to me. As I make discover new products that I love and make them a permanent part of my daily routine, I will share them in new posts!
