For as long as I can remember, every time my family hosts a barbecue in the backyard, my mom makes barbecue turkey breast. When this recipe is on the grill, I'll pick it over a hamburger or hot dog any day! The meat is juicy, flavorful and makes enough for a crowd. If there is enough to take home leftovers, the turkey/chicken makes great sandwiches, salads, wraps, etc. It's even yummy cold! I get so excited every time I see the ice cream bucket in my mom's fridge filled with turkey and marinade for an upcoming barbecue. And now that Joe and I have our grill, I've made it once myself, but on a smaller scale! We usually have turkey, but when I made it, and in the picture above, we used chicken and it was still pretty delicious.
Last weekend, for the 4th of July, we had a barbecue with one of my mom's best friends and her family. She grilled hot dogs and this barbecue turkey and while plenty of people had hot dogs, we made sure everyone at least tried the turkey. My siblings and I were even reminiscing about the last party my parent's hosted when we grilled turkey. It's one of those recipes that holds a lot of memories for us, and continues to make more every time we eat it.
So whether you're hosting a neighborhood party, having a family barbecue or just eating dinner as a couple, this recipe is simple, easy to put together, but so delicious and everyone will love it! I plan on making this for my family and friends for years to come.
