The Whole Story - Our First Few Weeks of Dating

In high school, I admired Joe from a far, and after graduation we went our separate ways, but life led us right back to where we started so that we could fall in love.

I think we can all agree that the early stages of dating are great! The whirlwind of emotion, flirting, excitement, nervousness, etc. is a whole lot of fun! Dating Joe and getting to know each other was exactly that, a whole lot of fun! I was excited when I got a text message from him, I couldn't wait to see him every day, we never ran out of things to talk about, we laughed a lot, and every moment together was exciting!

Joe was content to sit by my every night while I did my homework because we just wanted to be together. Every night after work, I would hurry to finish my assignments or reading because I wanted to give him my full attention, but with twelve credit hours on top of a full time work schedule, that was nearly impossible. So when Joe got off work every night, he would come watch TV (or I'd go to his house) and I would sit next to him and study.

The First Few Weeks of Dating

When I wasn't stuck being a responsible student, you could usually find us on a long walk together. Our normal route was 3.5 miles and we'd stroll hand in hand the entire way. There's a park about two blocks away from my parent's house where we usually stopped to swing and talk some more before saying goodbye for the night. These are some of my favorite memories, and even though it was freezing cold and dark, we loved every minute of it!

I couldn't talk about Joe enough when we first started dating (and obviously now as well). I liked him so much and I still couldn't believe that I was dating the guy that I used to stare at in school. It's crazy to think that this was all three years ago. I loved spending every minute of my time with Joe cuddling, talking and laughing together. It's not very productive, but it sure is great! Escaping from life and our adult responsibilities this past weekend, we got a lot of that same quality time together again and it was great. I couldn't stop thinking about how fun it is to date my husband!
