Intentional - Marriage & Relationship Goals

This year for my Marriage & Relationship Goals, I decided to choose a word that I could focus each month's goals on. A few months ago, I chose my word for the year, intentional. I want to be intentional with everything in my life, but I especially want to be intentional with everything related to my marriage. This past year was an eventful one for us, we went through a lot together and experienced everything from heartbreak to happiness and frustration to success. We grew a lot as individuals and I'm so glad that I had Joe by my side for every moment of it so that we could grow as a couple as well. Looking forward to this coming year, with everything that we have planned in our lives, and especially with a baby on the way, I knew that I needed to make it my priority to be more intentional so that our marriage can continue to grow and be great.

Be intentional in everything you do with your marriage!

A couple of months ago, I found this article and found myself nodding in agreement the entire time I was reading it. If you invest time and energy into connecting with your spouse and improving your marriage, the love that you have for each other will only get better the longer you are together. The article lists five ways that you can be intentional in your relationship daily, so I decided to create a list of my own. Below are five things I plan to do to stay focused on my husband and my marriage in 2015. (The first three are inspired by our love languages.)

1. Intentional Quality Time

2. Intentional Acts of Service

3. Intentional Physical Touch

4. Intentional Thought for My Husband

5. Intentional Date Night

Each month, my Marriage & Relationship Goal will be centered around my word for the year, intentional, and relate to at least one of the five general goals that I have set. I can't wait to watch my marriage grow and become even greater as I intentionally work on it throughout the next twelve months.

Do you have a word for 2015? Have you set any goals related to your marriage using that word? Write a post about it and link-up with us below. I'd love to read about how you're prioritizing your marriage this year!
