A little background before you read this Q&A: Husband and I spent the afternoon watching Les Miserables for the first time and he did not like it at all. He likes the musical, he's seen it on stage twice, but the movie was pure torture for him I guess. So he was a little grumpy when we went through these, but I think this set of questions was the easiest for him to answer, maybe that made it less painful for him.
1. What will your firstborn daughter's name be?
His: I don't know, I don't think about that thing. Ask my daughter, she can name herself! (Ok....)
Hers: I honestly don't know. I always have lots of new ideas, and then ideas that I really liked once upon a time don't sound as great anymore, so I guess it will depend on my thoughts at the time.
2. What is your biggest hopping pet peeve?
His: When people drink a drink or eat candy before they pay for it or if they give it to their kids. (My husband does security, that is why this is his pet peeve.)
Hers: It depends on the day, but most of the time it's just people who aren't considerate of other people's feelings, time, etc. I'm sure that I'm guilty of this myself, so I shouldn't get so annoyed by it, but I really do.
3. If you could have any single superpower, what would it be and why?
His: Read minds because then I could know the intentions of people.
Hers: I would love to be able to fly I think. It would be so much easier to get to work, school, church, etc. It would save me a lot of time and frustration every day. But then maybe I wouldn't get as much exercise because I don't think that flying is considered cardio. :P
4. If you got a life supply subscription to any magazine, what magazine would you choose?
His: The Ensign because I'm that cool and I don't know what other magazines are out there.
Hers: I always enjoy looking through the Real Simple magazine. I'm not a huge magazine person, but that one really entertains me sometimes.
5. What was your favorite subject in elementary school? (lunch and recess don't count)
His: Computers because I could play Oregon Trail.
Hers: I'm pretty sure my favorite part of elementary school was library time. I'm a nerd, I like to read, I LOVED going to the library every week and picking out new books. Plus, what little girl didn't sit and braid her friend's hair or have her hair braided during story time? That was my absolute favorite
6. You just scored $5. What do you spend it on?
His: I'd invest it in a mutual fund. (More on husband's obsession with money, saving and investing later.)
Hers: Every time I look at this question, I think $5, that's not all that much, and I'd buy anything that cheap in a heartbeat anyway. Which then makes me think that maybe I need to be more picky about what and how I spend my money, those $5 all add up to a lot in the house fund. If I had $5 cash in my wallet to spend though, it would most likely go to some sort of food or treat that I was craving.
7. What were your thoughts when you first met your other half?
His: "I think that girl's name is Amber or something." (His first answer was, "I'd hit that." and then he told me it was a girly question and he really couldn't remember.)
Hers: The very first time I saw him (in high school), I thought he was really cute. The first time we "met", I was a little excited that this boy who I always admired from afar was interested in me and talking to me. It always felt like a celebrity type crush you know, you crush on someone who you don't really know?!
8. If you could punch a company/business in the face, who would you want to punch?
His: Bank of America.
Hers: Umm..... I've been thinking about this for a while and can't think of any company that makes me really mad, but I would punch Tony Roma's in the face for leaving Utah because I can't enjoy their delicious food anytime I want anymore. Of course, maybe that's for the best.
9. Favorite classic Disney princess?
His: Probably Jasmine because Aladdin was my favorite out of them all, when I cared.
Hers: Mine would probably have to be Jasmine or Ariel. They are both so independent and strong willed and just want to be trusted to fend for themselves and do the right thing. I like that!
10. If you could reincarnate into any animal after you die, what animal would you want to be?
His: A lion because I like steak... and the women do most of the work. (He said that last part under his breath...)
Hers: I like penguins. They mate for life, they have really warm coats, they always look dressed up, and they get to slip and slide around on ice blocks all day. I don't like the cold though, so I'd have to have a really thick coat of fur.
