Black Friday in Our House

Having a husband who works retail means that I usually spend Black Friday weekend by myself. I don't have to work and he's working a lot or napping because he's so tired. I have a really hard time with Black Friday shopping, maybe because it's never been part of my family's holiday tradition and now because it takes Joe away from me. I actually don't mind the Friday shopping, but this recent change to "Black Thanksgiving" shopping makes me grumpy. Last year, Joe had to work at 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving night, not cool. But because people shop when the stores open on Thursday, every year they will open earlier and earlier. (No offense to all of you who go shopping on Thanksgiving, it's nothing against you personally, just the Thanksgiving shopping group as a whole.) I mean, Kmart is opening at 6 a.m. on Thursday morning?!?! Ok... end rant...

Black Friday Shopping

You might find me doing a little online shopping today, last year I got an amazing comforter for $20 (normally $100+), but that's as close as I'll get to the sales and even online can be frustrating if there are too many people shopping at once. The rest of my time this weekend will be spent crafting, watching chick flicks and eating yummy food. And maybe, if the husband isn't too tired, we'll have a date night after his crazy shifts are over. I love having a few days off work!

What are you doing to celebrate the holidays this weekend?
