Ask Us Anything - Baby Version

A few months ago, I shared our post baby plans and promised to answer any questions that you had the next month, and then I didn't do that. Since I rarely write baby focused posts here on the blog and this little guy will be here any day now, I figured that I would answer some of those questions today! So without further ado, here are the answers to all of the questions I've gotten from some of you over the past couple of months.

What will the baby's name be?

I always thought I would be one of those people who had a name set from the time they found out the gender of their baby, but that hasn't been the case. We're thinking that his name will be Bensen but we're still deciding on a middle name. We're still not 100% committed to his name or the spelling of it though, so we'll wait to announce officially after he's born..

Is your nursery decorated? What's the theme?

This little boy's room will have a frog/frog prince theme, but no, it isn't decorated yet. We finally got the furniture that we have put together and arranged the other day, but we still have quite a few things to get. My mom made some really cute blankets for the room and I've got some ideas for decorating the room, but I haven't started working on any of those things yet. As soon as we get the nursery finished, I'll be sure to post it here on the blog as part of our home tour.

Do you plan to continue working after you finish school?

Probably, at least part time because as much as I'm sure I'll love being home with my baby, I need to stay busy and will want some time out of the house doing something for myself as well. I would love to use this blog to further my Family Life Educator career, teach some classes within the community and I wouldn't mind continuing the job that I have now either. After I finish school, I hope that my schedule will be a little bit more flexible and I plan on one of us being home with our little guy every day but I don't see myself being a stay-at-home only mom for a while.

How are you feeling? Do you sleep at all? Does your back hurt? Etc.

I get these types of questions more than any other. When I was busy with midterms, up past midnight every night working on homework and up around 6:30 every morning for class or work, people liked to tell me that I looked tired and must be ready for my little guy to get here. The truth is, pregnancy wise, I have felt really great! Yes, I had morning sickness and was always tired during my first trimester and the 10+ weeks that I spent sick with a stomach bug, cold and sinus infection was the worst part of my pregnancy, but other than that, I've felt great! I sleep really well, my back hasn't hurt at all, there have only been a couple of days when my feet have swollen up and I can still wear my wedding ring. I consider myself really lucky because I know a lot of women who are uncomfortable for the majority of their pregnancy.
